Pagar 1300$ por una butaca para ver ganar a los Yankees y ser coparticipe de un mundo perfecto, hace que el costo de esa entrada sea una ganga, o por el contrario es mucho con demasiado???

He ahi el Dilema!

Yankees justos Campeones...

New York Yankees $201,449,189
New York Mets $149,373,987
Chicago Cubs $134,809,000
Boston Red Sox $121,745,999
Detroit Tigers $115,085,145
Los Angeles Angels $113,709,00
Philadelphia Phillies $113,004,046

As we walk campus already complaining about how the summer has come and gone so quickly, how the weather has rapidly changed from warm to uncomfortably cool, and how snow is now right around the corner, let’s remind ourselves one thing: the month of October is the sports fan’s most sports-full month of the year.

Sure, now we have to break out the hoodies and jackets and shove our shorts and t-shirts to the back of our drawers for the next five months, but I personally couldn’t be any happier. You won’t see a frown on my face while I have the option of watching just about every major American sport being played at any given time this month.

The NFL is now completely underway and being only five weeks into the season we’ve already experienced some great games, surprisingly good, and bad, teams, and still have so much to anticipate as the season progresses. Certainly nothing finishes off a weekend better than NFL Sundays. To compliment the professionals, college football is also in mid-swing giving us even more excellent games and another day filled with uncountable amounts of football games.

But it’s not only the game of football that makes October the best sports month of the year, there’s plenty more to choose from. After a ridiculously long baseball season, the playoffs are finally underway in the MLB. Nothing’s better after a 160-game regular season than some playoff baseball. The Twins created the postseason excitement early by making a dramatic comeback in the A.L. Central at season’s end and forcing, and eventually winning, the one-game playoff between themselves and the Detroit Tigers. Ever since it’s been a great month of baseball with unquestionably even more thrilling games to come.

Nope, not done there. Hockey is underway as well and it’s a season that us Blackhawks fans should be particularly excited for. The Hawks have been picked early on by many as one of the strongest contenders for the Stanley Cup this season and the city of Chicago and state of Illinois needs nothing more than a championship in a major sport brought back to the state. And for all you non-hockey enthusiasts, obviously you can continue to watch hockey for the reason you always have, the fights.

Surprisingly, the ultimate sports month that is October isn’t done there either. Although by this time of the year you’ve probably all but forgotten about its existence, that’s right, professional basketball does still exist. Training camps and preseason games have already begun and by month’s end the regular season will start. After a beyond exhilarating end to the Chicago Bulls ’08-‘09 campaign, we should all be anticipating another compelling season out of the Bulls once again this season. Also, it can’t go without mentioning that college basketball’s Midnight Madness also takes place this month.

You’ve read correctly, each and every major North American sport will be played over the course of this month and at many times you’ll have the choice of watching not only one, but potentially two or three of them simultaneously. If that doesn’t change your mind about the greatness of the month of October, then I give up.

So, while the vast majority of campuses gloomily walks to and from classes at a slow depressing end of the calendar year pace, only dreading the month ahead and its progressively colder and colder developing weather in addition to the fiery colors that is autumn, I will likely be walking at a slightly faster pace, with an extra jump in my step, getting back to the television as quick as humanly possible knowing that odds are one of those compelling October sports moments is likely about to take place.

That's what everyone is calling it. They are referring to the exilirating and exhausting game that was witnessed last night at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. Oh, my apologies- "Mall Of America Field at the HHH Metrodome" (Rolls eyes), but I diverge. What the Twins did last night was not only euphoric for the team and its fans, but also historic.

The Twins were seven games behind the Detroit Tigers on Sept. 6. The Twins brought that deficit down to three, with four to play starting last Thursday. The Twins rallyed, and it must be noted, without one of their huge components in Justin Morneau. So it came to be that the Twins would play in game 163 on the season for the second year in a row. They had already conquered a feat that no other team had conquered before.

This game would not come easy for either team. The Twins were shut down early by Rick Porcello, while the Tigers struck early taking a 3-0 lead in the 3rd inning with a homerun from Miguel Cabrera. He was taunted by the crowd that was chanting a-l-c-o-h-o-l-i-c. A rude reference to a domestic incident that occured between his wife and himself at his home Saturday, Oct. 3rd. He quieted the crowd with his two-run shot, and the Twins would be behind until later in the game.

In the 6th inning Jason Kubel would inch the Twins closer with a solo homerun, but it would be Orlando Cabrera who would give life to the Twins with a two-run shot of his own in the 7th inning. Just as it seemed the Twins would pull off the impossible, Magglio Ordonez hit a homerun in the 8th inning to even the score at four runs each.

With neither team scoring in the 9th inning, it seemed as though we were heading into game 164. It was perfectly fitting. The Tigers would score a run with a double from Brandon Inge, but the Twins would not go away as Michael Cuddyer scored a run off of a base hit from Matt Tolbert. With bases loaded, the Tigers completed a double-play throwing out Alexi Casilla at home. Had Casilla not hesitated he may have scored the game-winning run right there, but he would redeem himself.

It would not be until the 12th inning that we would see an end to this classic. With Carlos Gomez on third and Delmon Young on first, Alexi Casilla came up to the plate. This time he would be the hero. He singled to right allowing Carlos Gomez to bring in the game-winning run. Gomez was already being welcomed by his teammates before he even reached the plate.

The Twins last game before entering their new stadium was supposed to occur on Oct. 4th, but the loud tupperware container known as the Metrodome would not let them go. So now the Twins win, and move on. Congratulations to my team. We've just earned a date with the winningest-team in the MLB, and with little rest to go on.

But I must say, it is a great time to be a sports fan in Minnesota. Brett Favre defeated his former team, and set yet another NFL record by now having defeated all 32 NFL teams, and the Vikings go 1-0 in the border battle and 4-0 on the season. The Twins do the unthinkable as described above. And even the Minnesota Wild won in a overtime thriller against the Ducks the other night, winning by a score of 4-3 after being down 3-0. The Minnesota Golden Gopher football team almost completed the hopeful Minnesota Trifecta that was Gophers-Vikings-Twins on the extended weekend, but i'll take what we've been given. Good luck Twins! Goodnight Minnesota!

So I felt compelled to address this farce of a playoff for what some still call "America's Game."

First of all, this is one of the things I absolutely hate about MLB. You have 162 games to play out a division winner and yet, here we are tied for the AL Central? 162 games after which one team, the Twins, are no better or worse than the other, the Tigers. At least that's what MLB and Bud "I'm still trying to ruin the game" Selig would like for you to believe.

Remember last season when the Twins forced a "play-in" game against the Chicago White Sox. Remember how there was a coin toss to determine who got to host said play-in game. I remember how stupid it was from the standpoint that a 1 game "playoff" is supposed to decide who the better team is again after that couldn't be determined by playing a complete 162 game schedule? Am I alone in seeing this as merely what it is? If after 162 games you are tied, don't try to sell me on the idea that 1 game for all the marbles has any real significance other than who is better on that 1 day.

If you want to call it a playoff then set it up as one, which in my opinion, would need to be at least a 3 game series in order to even qualify as a "playoff."

Last seasons coin toss B.S., that awarded the White Sox the opportunity to host a 1 game playoff against the Twins was addressed by a rule change that actually recognized head-to-head matchups to determine which team would host the "play-in" game as it should have last season when the Twins were better than the White Sox in that head-to-head format. However, why not just use that head-to-head format to determine the division winner? This year the Twins are 7-2 against the Tigers! Twins + 7 wins > Tigers + 2 wins! Now you are telling me that if the Tigers win the "1 game playoff" and improve their head-to-head record to 3-7 vs. the Twins that it clearly points to them being the better team? More MLB B.S.

The Twins are clearly getting jobbed again by Bud and MLB!

It's beyond time for MLB to pull its collective head out of its butt and come up with a better playoff format, which for me is a 6 team playoff for both leagues. MLB should have a playoff with the 3 division winners and 3 wild card teams again for each league. The result, is more playoff games = more revenue = more teams make the playoffs = more cities host playoff games = fans get to see their teams make the playoffs more often = more opportunity for the dramatic playoff series upset = a better MLB product! MLB is too busy living in the days of Ruth and Gehrig and that's why they can't hold a candle to the NFL!

Imagine if the 6 team playoff format were used this season:

National League

1. Los Angeles Dodgers

2. Philadelphia Phillies

3. St. Louis Cardinals

4. Colorado Rockies

5. San Francisco Giants

6. Florida Marlins

American League

1. New York Yankees

2. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

3. Minnesota Twins/Detroit Tigers

4. Boston Red Sox

5. Texas Rangers

6. Minnesota Twins/Detroit Tigers

You set it up similar to the NFL. The #1 and #2 seeds get a first round bye and so the winner of #3 vs. #6 plays #1 and the winner of #4 vs. #5 would play #2.

The real benefit with this format is how you open it up for more marketing of some really great marquee stars to play in the playoffs. Tim Lincecum, Josh Hamilton, Michael Young, Hanley Ramirez, Dan Uggla, not to mention all the stars on the Twins AND the Tigers that would be represented.

IT'S TIME FOR MLB TO STOP ACTING LIKE THE BCS AND HAVE A "REAL PLAYOFF!"

By the way, the 1 game playoff isn't even a playoff, it's actually a 163rd regular season game!?

One last comment, Miguel Cabrera was arrested for domestic battery over the weekend and he's now getting ready for the playoffs. Clearly he should be suspended by MLB for his misconduct! Hey Miguel, I guess in a season where you can't beat the Twins you'll just beat your wife!

Key win for the Detroit Tigers today. Ryan Raburn did great. Detroit needs him and their pitcher Rick Porcello to step up Tuesday against the Twins at the Triple H place. It would be a heartbreaker for Detroit to lose now after holding the American League Central lead for most of the season. I think this game on Tuesday will come down to the wire. Whoever wins deserves the playoff spot because both teams have played their hearts out. I would love to see Detroit win against Minnesota.

Yesterday was much better on the picks front. I started out with a win when Steve Flesch turned his game around and went -3 on the front nine. Picked up my lone loss of the day when Cristobal Huet gave up two goals on seven shots to the Panthers in the third period, including the tying goal with under three minutes left. Of course he was not up to the task in the shootout and Vokoun led Florida to victory. I then got lucky with St. Louis scoring three unanswered goals against Detroit to take the victory. Finished up the night with BYU doubling up Utah State plus one with the final score of 35-17. We've got a smorgasbord of picks on the menu today so good luck and on to the picks!

Again the soccer picks killed me. Took Australia to score first even though I knew Oceanic teams typically are weak, then hit the fail button again when I banked on Brazil's U-20 team to score early and often. They did not score at all. After that I took Manchester United at home, but they and Chelsea each won by one goal. Finally picked up a win when I switched my pick to Toronto with Boston resting nearly their entire starting lineup. Well, it's a new day of picks and a new chance to go for the monthly if that's how you want to swing it, so good luck and on to the picks!

1) Steve Elkington vs. Joe Durant - Elkington cards a lower or equal front 9 score
2) Aaron Baddeley vs. Dustin Johnson - Johnson cards a lower front 9 score
3) Spain vs. Venezuela - Venezuela wins, draws, or loses by 1 goal
4) Minnesota Twins @ Detroit Tigers - Detroit
5) Egypt vs. Italy - 2 goals or fewer
6) Dan Haren vs. Tim Lincecum - Haren pitches more innings
7) Washington Capitals @ Boston Bruins - Boston
8) Montreal Canadiens @ Toronto Maple Leafs - Montreal
9) Colorado Buffaloes Total Points @ West Virginia Mountaineers Winning Margin - Colorado total points
10) Pittsburgh Pirates @ Chicago Cubs - Chicago
11) Southern Miss Golden Eagles @ UAB Blazers - 61 points or more
12) Indiana Fever @ Phoenix Mercury - Phoenix
13) Vancouver Canucks @ Calgary Flames - Calgary
14) San Jose Sharks @ Colorado Avalanche - San Jose
15) Oakland Athletics @ Seattle Mariners - Seattle
16) Home Runs Hit In Innings 4 Through 6 (Athletics @ Mariners): Zero vs. 1 Or More - Zero

Wow, pretty awful day for my picks mostly thanks to the soccer matches. Liverpool got handled by Fiorentina and I lost my W6, then Verlander went 129 pitches strong. He had 8 strikeouts and 5 hits after 7 innings and 110 pitches but Tim Leyland determined he needed to go one more inning in which he gave up 3 hits and got zero strikeouts so I lost that pick. Then I picked up another win with Chad Billingsley one-hitting the woeful Padres through 5 innings. Well, hopefully soccer can put me out on a better foot today and so on to the picks!

1) Australia vs. Costa Rica - Australia scores first
2) Beşiktaş @ CSKA Moscow - 2 goals or fewer
3) Czech Republic vs. Brazil - Goal scored in the 29th minute or earlier
4) Manchester United (v. VfL Wolfsburg) vs. Chelsea (@ APOEL Nicosia) - Manchester United have a larger margin of victory
5) Honduras vs. United Arab Emirates - United Arab Emirates win or draw
6) Minnesota Twins @ Detroit Tigers - Detroit
7) Will Joba Chamberlain Get The Win (Royals @ Yankees): Yes vs. No - Yes
8) Toronto Blue Jays @ Boston Red Sox - Toronto
9) Hawaii Warriors @ Louisiana Tech Bulldogs - Louisiana Tech
10) Los Angeles Dodgers (@ Padres) vs. San Francisco Giants (@ Diamondbacks) - Dodgers have a larger margin of victory
11) Oakland @ Seattle vs. Texas @ Los Angeles - Texas @ Los Angeles have more runs scored in innings 4-6

Well damn, that Pirates/Dodgers game sure did not go as expected. I mean, it's tough to get four straight wins, but Kuroda never even had a chance. I'm just glad this once I didn't get screwed by the pitcher who's throwing batting practice. After that I ended up taking the Witten/Smith prop and was just happy to walk away with the push at the end. Even though Witten caught all 9 passes thrown to him you can't fault the Cowboys for targeting him just once in the second half. I mean, the offense they were running was definitely working. Still, just one more pass to the guy would ya? UEFA Champions League is back in action tomorrow and there are a couple of baseball props up on the board which are always fun. I took Billingsley because the Padres are batting .220 at home this season while the Athletics are hitting .268 on the road. And so on to the picks!

1) Germany vs. Korea - 2 goals or more scored in the 1st half
2) Minnesota Twins @ Detroit Tigers - Detroit
3) Inter Milan @ FK Rubin Kazan - 2 goals or fewer
4) Cameroon vs. United States - Cameroon win
5) Liverpool @ Fiorentina - Liverpool win
6) Minnesota Twins Hits Off Verlander Or Tie vs. Justin Verlander Strikeouts - Verlander strikeouts
7) St. Louis Cardinals @ Cincinnati Reds - St. Louis
8) Indiana Fever @ Phoenix Mercury - Phoenix
9) Felix Hernandez (v. Oakland) vs. Chad Billingsley (@ San Diego) - Billingsley allows fewer hits after 5 innings
10) Arizona Diamondbacks @ San Francisco Giants - Arizona
11) Total Runs Scored In Innings 4 Through 6: 2 Runs Or Fewer vs. 3 Runs Or More - 3 or more

I had a helluva Saturday night up on the mountains, hence the lack of picks for Sunday. I figured picks are pretty useless after the fact so fugeddaboutit, yea? Picked up a win with Sunderland this morning and went on to win with Mark Sanchez and the Jets at home to bring my streak to 5. So far there are only six picks on the board for tomorrow but I figure they'll throw up a couple more props before the end of the day. Probably. So on to the picks!

1) Will Hiroki Kuroda Get The Win (Dodgers @ Pirates): Yes vs. No - No
2) IF Elfsborg @ Halmstads BK - Halmstads BK win or draw
3) West Ham United @ Manchester City - Manchester City win by 2 or more goals
4) União Leiria @ Vitória Guimarães - Vitória Guimarães win
5) Minnesota Twins @ Detroit Tigers - Detroit
6) Carolina Panthers 2nd Half Points vs. Dallas Cowboys Winning Margin - Panthers 2nd half points
7) DeAngelo Williams and Jonathon Stewart vs. Felix Jones and Tashard Choice - Jones/Choice score a TD first
8) Steve Smith vs. Jason Witten - Witten records more 2nd half receptions
9) Texas Rangers @ Los Angeles Angels - Los Angeles

2-1-0 as Paraguay's teens (under-20's) held Italy to a scoreless draw in Egypt at the U-20 World Cup. I picked up my win two with the over under prop featuring Spain playing Tahiti. Oceania is traditionally the weakest soccer zone and Tahiti was no exception. Spain opened up the scoring with a goal in the 11th minute and was up 4-0 before the first half was over. By the end Spain had three players with a brace and two others on the score sheet to win 8-0. Of course I got greedy, but not greedy enough as I let the Yankees and Rangers slide past me to settle on the Phoenix Mercury. Call me paranoid, but I just know Phoenix were paid off to throw that game, I just know it! Plenty of college football to keep you happy until the pros start up tomorrow so enjoy and on with the picks!

1) Bolton Wanderers @ Birmingham - Bolton Wanderers win or draw
2) #22 North Carolina Tar Heels @ Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets - North Carolina
3) Michigan State Spartans @ Wisconsin Badgers - Wisconsin
4) #9 Miami(FL) Hurricanes @ #11 Virginia Tech Hokies - Miami(FL)
5) #6 California Golden Bears @ Oregon Ducks - California
6) #14 TCU Horned Frogs @ Clemson Tigers - Clemson
7) Pittsburgh Panthers @ North Carolina State Wolfpack - Pittsburgh
8) Carl Edwards vs. Denny Hamlin - Edwards has a better final position
9) Chicago Cubs @ San Francisco Giants - San Francisco
10) Troy Trojans @ Arkansas State Red Wolves - Arkansas State
11) Detroit Shock @ Indiana Fever - Detroit
12) Detroit Tigers @ Chicago White Sox - Chicago
13) Notre Dame (@ Purdue) vs. Penn State (v.

NFL week 2

Atlanta 28 Carolina 20 - In the vein of doing just enough to win, I give you the Falcons Offense. This score is misleading folks, Atlanta was never threatened in this game and their defense might be one of the most overlooked in football.

Minnesota 27 Detroit 13 - Well at least the Lions had a 10-0 lead but in the end 3 turnovers did Detroit in. Only person who can stop Adrian Peterson right now is Adrian Peterson. Another fumble for him and it was obvious the Lions were going for his hands on every tackle.

Cincinnati 31 Green Bay 24 - Congrats to the Bengals on somehow winning this game at Lambeau... Wait I do know why they won, the Pack only had 89 yards rushing. What the hell happened to Ryan Grant? Kudos to the Bengal D, they only allowed 10 actual points.

Houston 34 Tennessee 31 - Now this, THIS was the Texans team I expected to see last week. What else can be said about Andre Johnson? He catches the ball in space, he is gone. Nuff Said. The Titans might be the most dangerous 0-2 team in the history of football. I think Chris Johnson is still running.

Oakland 13 Kansas City 10 - How do you win a game where your starting QB goes 7-24 passing and are outgained 406-169 in total yardage? You play the Chiefs. Ths will be a tough loss for KC fans to take.

NY Jets 16 New England 9 - You folks can't see me right now but I assure you that I am smiling ear to ear over this game. I think the Jets where still blitzing Brady as he got on the team bus. This game also fits the theme of the weekend: ineptness of scoring TDs in the red zone. 6 total trips combined, 1 td. Loudest I ever heard Jets fans in the Meadowlands for a whole game.

New Orleans 48 Philadelphia 22 - Ok this keeps up, the Saints might break every team offense scoring record in the book. I know there was no McNabb but that Eagle D is still one of the Top 5 in football and Drew Brees cut them up like a kid with construction paper. Philly 1-5 in the red zone AND lose Westbrook to a sprained ankle.

Washington 9 St. Louis 7 - Well the Redskins won...it was ugly but the important thing is the win. Right? Yep you can hear the Washington fans being restless right now. Set offensive football back to the 1950's folks.

Arizona 31 Jacksonville 17 - My second shocking result of the day. Warner was 24/26 passing which is a new NFL record and the Cards did wha a desperate road team needs to do: jumped out ahead 31-3 and never looked back.

Buffalo 33 Tampa Bay 20 - Might be a looooong year in Tampa. Offense looked totally out of sync and defense was totally in flux. Meanwhile, Trent Edwards is a highwire act all by his lonesome. Bills fans might be going grey early.

San Francisco 23 Seattle 10 - That blur you see is Frank Gore still running through the Seattle D and to make matters worse for the Seahawks, Hassellback went down and out with a rib unjury.

Chicago 17 Pittsburgh 14 - I was talking about problems scoring? Steelers are going to look at this game all week cursing up a storm. Bears take advantage of 2 missed field goals and loads of Steelers miscues.

Baltimore 31 San Diego 26 - Game of the day for about 2 hrs. Someone want to tell Norv Turner that without LT in the lineup that he still has Darren Sproles for that screen pass? And for everyone that hates on Ray Lewis, the last offensive play shows why he's in high regard with me. Can you say 'blown up' boys and girls?

Denver 27 Cleveland 6 - After all the turmoil in the pre-season, the Broncos are 2-0. Go figure. This NFL is a funny place sometimes. As far as the Browns go, there is this innovative concept called an offense. You might wanna look into that Mangini.

NY Giants 33 Dallas 31 - Game of the Night. 8 lead changes, the Giants were 0-5 in the red zone, and couldn't run the ball. Dallas had 4 turnovers and yet this game was won on a final field goal with no time remaining. What a way to welcome the new stadium and I can only imagine 'Boys fans today.

Indianapolis at Miami - I don't get where some people are predicting an easy win for the Dolphins here. I know the Colts are limping in but still they have Peyton Manning and an awesome offense. Colts by at least 10 tonight unless the Miami running game goes nuts.

NASCAR

Hot - Mark Martin obviously for his win in New Hampshire.

      - Montoya and Hamlin because their cars were totally locked in

      - Jimmie Johnson is still lounging out in the top 4-5

Cold - What the hell #9 team? 33 laps in and you cripple Kasey's chances?

       - Jeff Gordon can't pass anyone without difficulty right now. Not a good sign.

       - Tony Stewart needs something to turn around quickly. Nothing substantial as proof, I just have a feeling.

- Jr looks like he's one the verge of snapping and that's not good heading into Dover and Talledega.

- I don't know about you, I am tired of extended pre race shows right before a race. 30 minutes then start engines in my ideal world.

NCAA BCS

- I'm sorry So.Fla fans, my kiss of death is a funny thing and the Matt Grothe loss is a killer.

- I can't blame the USC backup QB for that loss especially when his skilled position players were so eager to flub the ball over to Washington.

- Give Tennessee credit, I thought they were gonna get blasted by Florida but Kiffin had his kids motivated and ready to play.

- I sorry I still don't buy Mississippi as the #4 team in the country and I REALLY don't buy Miami as #9.

- Well it was fun while it lasted Utah and BYU.

MLB

- Milton Bradley gets another chance in this league and that GM will need his head checked.

- Speaking of getting stuff checked, imagine how Detroit Tigers fans are feeling right now? Imagine if they lost on Sunday to Minnesota?

- Someone sign that lil gal philly to a pro contract! She got a better arm than most of my Yankee #5 starters. (kidding, kidding, maybe not). Totally an adorable moment and the dad has emotional blackmail on her for years now.

BOXING / MMA

- Really Sugar Shane? Ambush Floyd's after fight in ring interview? That's how you are going to get a fight with Mayweather? Who's your adviser? Vince McMahon?

- Vitor Belfort stops Rich Franklin and from all appearances the UFC stopped Boxing in buyrates. Um you think boxing promoters are a lil scared right now?

That all for me this week. Tuesday I will do the unthinkable on the Comic Shoppe and DESTROY the latest issue of Blackest Night. Folks I was pissed and if you thought I was nuts last week about vampires....anyway 7pm est at www.thecomicshoppe.com. Yeah get that straitjacket ready..

Until next week Sports Fans, I'll see you in the stands.

God damn it, even though I spent another day above .500 with my picks here I ended up 1-3-0 with my actual Streak picks. I am just really poor at knowing which picks to take. I suppose I ought to go with the picks I'm least confident in. Started out nice with the over in the Spain-Poland game but then got shot down when Liverpool played sloppy as hell and won by the score of 1-0. Then the Mets and Braves played me when they failed to score in the 1st inning but scored in 6 of the next 8 innings. Finally the Giants played tease as they came back from 4-0 only to fall short by a single run in the 9th. A day better left forgotten and so on to the picks.

1) AS Roma @ FC Basel - AS Roma win
2) Kansas City Royals @ Detroit Tigers - Detroit
3) AEK Athens @ Everton - 2 goals or fewer
4) Indiana Fever @ Washington Mystics - Washington
5) Cole Hamels (v. Nationals) vs. Josh Beckett (vs. Angels) - Beckett allows fewer hits
6) Florida Marlins @ Cincinnati Reds - Cincinnati
7) Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets@ Miami (FL) Hurricanes - Miami (FL)
8) Phoenix Mercury @ San Antonio Silver Stars - San Antonio
9) Cleveland Indians @ Oakland Athletics - Oakland
10) How Many Runs Will Be Scored In Innings 6 Through 9 (Indians @ Athletics): 3 Or Fewer vs. 4 Or More - 3 or fewer

Pretty glad to get back on track after that awful Friday picking around 30%. I went 4-0-0 on my picks today. I started out with Ian Poulter threatening to break my streak. Stewart Cink eagled #2 and then Poulter missed a 3' putt and a 6' putt, both of which would have brought him level with Cink and won the prop. Fortunately, on the final hole, Poulter sank a 61-foot putt. Incredible! After that I decided to let it ride and picked up another win with Gregg Paulus throwing only one TD pass. My third win of the day came with Yovani Gallardo fanning 6 batters to 5 for Matt Cain. Then I wrapped it all up with Brazil winning convincingly 3-1. There look to be few gimmes tomorrow so best of luck feeling out the upsets and favorites. And on to the picks!

1) Kenya @ Mozambique - Kenya win or draw
2) Morocco @ Togo - Morocco win or draw
3) Sean O'Hair vs. Jim Furyk - O'Hair cards a lower or equal 3rd round score
4) Detroit Tigers @ Tampa Bay Rays - Tampa Bay
5) San Francisco Giants @ Milwaukee Brewers - Milwaukee
6) Boston Red Sox @ Chicago White Sox - Chicago
7) Kim Clijsters vs. Venus Williams - Clijsters
8) Mississippi Rebels @ Memphis Tigers - 54 points or fewer
9) Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Saskatchewan Roughriders - 51 points or fewer
10) Kyle Busch vs. Mark Martin - Martin has a better finish
11) San Diego Padres @ Los Angeles Dodgers - 8 runs or fewer
12) Taylor Dent vs. Andy Murray - 28 games or more played

Wow, just a horrid day for my picks, I'm lucky to have picked up two wins. Started out with Verplank mauling the front 9. One eagle and a few birdies later he was 5-under. Of course Cabrera was three strokes better on the back 9 to even things up after he lost the front 9 prop. I then lost with Woody Austin getting onto the green in 3 strokes and putting in from close. After that I won with Serena Williams being taken to 21 games. Then it was back to losing when Phil Mickelson missed a five footer for birdie. Things continued to be ridiclously shitty when Wienerwright [sic] got lit up in the 5th inning to the tune of 6 runs. He got pulled after that and finished with 5 strikeouts, one away from winning the prop. Fortunately, I ended the day on a high note with the Seattle Mariners picking up another win on the road. So on to the picks of tomorrow!

1) Ian Poulter vs. Stewart Cink - Poulter cards a lower or equal front 9 score
2) Macedonia @ Scotland - 2 goals or fewer
3) Minnesota Golden Gophers @ Syracuse Orange - Paulus throws 0 or 1 touchdown passes
4) Navy @ Ohio State vs. Kentucky @ Miami(OH) - Kentucky and Miami(OH) score more combined points
5) Jie Zheng @ Nadia Petrova - Petrova
6) Steve Stricker vs. Tiger Woods - Stricker cards a lower or equal front 9 score
7) John Isner vs. Andy Roddick - Roddick wins 3-0
8) Baylor Bears @ Wake Forest Demon Deacons - Baylor
9) Georgia Bulldogs @ Oklahoma State Cowboys - Oklahoma State
10) Matt Cain vs. Yovani Gallardo - Gallardo records more strikeouts
11) Carl Edwards vs. Mike Vickers - Edwards has a better final position
12) Philadelphia Phillies @ Houston Astros - Houston
13) BYU Cougars @ Oklahoma Sooners - Longest touchdown is 59 yards or more
14) Detroit Tigers @ Tampa Bay Rays - Tampa Bay
15) Alabama @ Virginia Tech - Alabama scores more 1st half points
16) El Salvador @ United States - United States wins by 2 goals or more
17) Brazil @ Argentina - Brazil win or draw
18) LSU Tigers @ Washington Huskies - LSU winning margin

2-0-0 today and I finally reached that coveted blue star. Started the day with Jurgen Melzer. I was cringing at the thought of another blown streak when he lost the first set 1-6 but before I knew it he was back on top winning the next three 6-4 6-3 6-4. I avoided the Argentine soccer where Estudiantes held on for a close 2-2 draw. They were up in the first half 2-2 then suddenly around 75 minutes in San Lorenzo equalized. Close call for all those going with the odds. Then I picked up win 10 with Billingsley giving up a double and a home run after taking a no-hitter into the 5th inning. My cable provider blacked out the game right after the double, thanks for removing the anticipation I'm not a fan of watching the snail's pace of baseball anyways. College football starts tomorrow so it's on to the picks. Good luck!

1) Elena Dementieva (v. Melanie Oudin) vs. Dinara Safina (v. Kristina Barrois) - Dementieva wins by more games
2) Cleveland Indians @ Detroit Tigers - Detroit
3) Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder vs. Albert Pujols and Matt Holliday - Pujols and Holliday record more total bases
4) James Blake vs. Olivier Rochus: Blake Wins 3-0 vs. Any Other Result - Blake wins 3-0
5) Tacuary @ Sol de América - Tacuary win or draw
6) South Carolina Gamecocks @ North Carolina State Wolfpack - 47 points or more
7) San Francisco Giants @ Philadelphia Phillies - San Francisco
8) New York Yankees @ Toronto Blue Jays - New York
9) New York Giants @ New England Patriots - New England
10) North Texas Mean Green @ Ball State Cardinals, Ball State Scores: 39 Or Fewer vs. 40 Or More - 40 or more
11) Marc Gicquel vs. Andy Roddick - 28 games or fewer played
12) Seattle Mariners @ Oakland Athletics - Oakland
13) Oregon Ducks @ Boise State Broncos - Boise State

I didn't get a chance to make the full slate of picks yesterday but I was very fortunate to pick up a win with Everton and the Braves scoring the first run of their game. Everton won on a last minute penalty kick while the Braves lost the game but scored in the top of the 1th with Martin Prado going yard.

Yesterday was a bit of an up and down day for me on the Streak. I started out picking up a win with Sergio Garcia aided by Padraig's double bogey on that long par-5 eighth. Then I made the mistake of picking Mainz to win or draw at Borussia Monchengladbach instead of taking Tiger to hit worse than -3 to par. I got a win back when I randomly took the over on that WNBA game. There were 114 points scored in the first half alone! Finally, ended the day with a losing streak thanks to Felix Hernandez being less than perfect. Ah well, one good day and it's a whole new streak so on to the picks.
