<body>The top story today, 12/10/08, has been the fact that C.C Sabathia is extremely close to signing a 7-year 160 million dollar year with the Yankees. C.C Sabathia has pitched a lot against the Red Sox, including the playoffs a couple of years ago.

Sabathia started with a horrible year last year, 6-8 with about a 4.00 ERA. The Yankees have tried to best the Rays and Red Sox in the division, lacking in the pitching area. 57% of the voters have voted that Sabathia is more important than K-Rod to have on the team.

I believe that it is +just horrible+ that the Yankees are offering 160 million dollar contract, when millions of American's are losing their jobs everywhere. It would be unbelievable if Sabathia didn't accept this contract by midnight tonight.

The Yankees have wanted C.C. Sabathia for a long time after the Red Sox won the 2004 World Series. The Yankees want a world championship out of Sabathia, the Red Sox and Rays being mighty competitors. I think the Yankees want Sabathia for at least 4 more years, in hope he will win them the World Series.

I also think that Sabathia will have a Barry Zito situation. As we know, Zito went to San Francisco last year. Zito had a $126 Million dollar contract last year and played like nothing.

Even with Sabathia, I believe that the 300 pound Cy Young Winner will not bring New York to the World Series this year. I would be surprised if the Yanks even finished 1st or even 2nd in this tough division. The Red Sox and Rays are just to good.

The Brewers did but up a very reasonable $100 million dollars. You Brewers fans are lucky that Milwaukee didn't put up another $60 million, if they even have that money!

If Sabathia doesn't sign with the Yankees by tonight, he is crazy.

*Other MLB Free Agents*

I see that the Cubs Padres deal involving Jake Peavy will be also finished today.

*Sabathia's Stats*

Sabathia will be able to opt out of the 7 year deal within 3 years of the contract.

W-L 117-73
ERA- 3.66

*End Fact:*

K-Rod reaches preliminary agreement on 3-year deal with Mets. </body>
