<body>Right now the BSC rankings have Texas at 1, following by Alabama, Penn State, Oklahoma, USC, Georgia, Texas Tech, Florida, Oklahoma ST, and rounding off the top ten Utah.
None of the pre season&#8217;s top five teams have fallen out of the top ten rankings, while all the pre season 6-10 have all fallen all from the top ten.
Looking at the top ten teams I think that the most overrated team is the USC Trojans. The Trojans were the pre season 3rd ranked team in the AP poll, and opened up against a Virginia team that was in the 2nd worst conference in the nation. (The PAC TEN being worse). Also Virginia was one of the worst teams in the conference, and they were missing there starting Quarterback. Then they got an off week, and the media started freaking out saying that they were the best team in the nation and that no one in the nation could beat them. Someone forgot to tell a 2-4 Organ ST team, who beat the Trojans 27-21. The #1 ranked Trojans were outscored by 21 points in the first half.
Now after getting their tails whooped by a team who was 2-4 in the horrible PAC TEN, you would think that the media would find a new team to worship and over hype. Mark Shlabach of ESPN said, &#8220;Everybody remember what happened here and how the Trojans were disgraced by a less than mediocre team. They should drop out of the top ten for the rest of the year.&quot; Sadly no one listened to Mark and the Trojans found themselves ranked number 5 at the end off week 9.
The most under rated team in the top ten could be chosen from a couple different teams. You could make a case for Florida, they go into the Cocktail party as ranked at #8 in the BSC. They should be ranked over both USC, and Oklahoma. You could also make a case for Texas Tech, who comes in ranked at #7. They are undefeated, and just came off a 63-21 blow out #23 Kansas, yet there are three teams with losses ahead off them. But the team that has been the most overlooked team in college football to this point is the Georgia Bulldogs. The Dawgs finished there 07-08 campaign with 6 straight wins and an impressive blowout of Hawaii, and entered the 08 season as the #1 team in the AP poll. They started the year out with four straight wins but somehow fell to #3. The Dawgs then received a loss from Alabama by the score of 41-30, this game was not a blow out as most people seem to think though. The Dawgs rebounded the next 4 weeks with wins over Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and an impressive offensive effort against LSU beating them 52-38, putting the Dawgs at 7-1 but yet behind Oklahoma, and USC, who also had one loss each. The Dawgs who play Florida this weekend find themselves the underdog according to most &#8220;experts&quot; despite being ranked higher. The Bulldogs will get there chance to show the world just how good they really are Saturday at 2:30 CT, despite there vast amount of injuries.
Saturday will offer two very intriguing top ten match ups, when Texas, takes on Texas Tech, both teams have BCS championship hopes on the line when they face each other at 7:00 CT Saturday night. My prediction is that Texas tech takes down the Longhorns, who have played three straight teams ranked #1, #11, #6, and now they have to face the 7th ranked team in the nation.
The other game that sparks national interest is the Cocktail party, featuring Georgia, and Florida. I expect the Dawgs to play with a chip on there shoulders and win the game for the second time in a row.</body>
