Sometimes some good things come out of bad events, and this Blount/Houtincident is no different. Granted, it is a very costly and disappointing thing for the Oregon Ducks, but more importantly, it's a major disappointment for the person (Blount). From a prospected high draft choice in the NFL down to possibly nothing all done in a couple minutes.

The good thing about this matter is that it brought violent confrontations in NCAA games to the spotlight. Now maybe the NCAA, conferences, and schools will take action and make rules of disciplinary actions on anyone who demonstrates any unsportsmanlike conduct such as this.

There has been a history of such trouble in past games before and eventually got swept under the rug after the incidents. A short list of examples that come to mind of the past few years:

Tebow taunting the OU Sooners in the Championship Game

Miami,Fla./FIU field clearing brawl

Hawaii/Alabama brawls

USC/ND pre game spat

Although it's all brought on by rivalry or mental motivation or frustration of the game, it's got to have substantial limits. Let's hope it does.
