<body>I love the New York Yankees. I have been a die hard fan since I was little kid. However, my family are die hard Red Sox fans. With that said, I have always had the upper hand in any argument we have gotten into, that is until the worst year ever 2004. So it got me thinking, the Yankees, my favorite sports team are the richest team in baseball and sign the best available free agents out there and trade for the biggest names. But why haven't they won a World Series since 2001 and haven't been there since 2003? I know everyone says its the ego's players just don't get along. While I can partially agree that the past teams haven't had good chemistry like in 96',98',99' and 2000. But to me, its simple, the team doesn't have balance. Those 4 world series the Yankees had balance on their roster. A good amount of youth and a good amount of veterans. Also, a lot of home grown talent that grew up in the Yankee farm system that learned how to play and adjust to the Yankees atmosphere. e.g. Williams, Jeter, Pettite, Rivera, Posada. Now, I can't say that I have been angry with every &quot;Blockbuster&quot; signing but I have question a handful in recent years. The biggest one's have been Pavano and Wright. I questioned these the most because I always question an NL pitcher, pitching in the AL. But, there is only one (in my personal opinion) that tops the biggest Yankees management flop. I'm talking about the 46 million dollar no Major League experience pticher, Kei Igawa. For those who don't know, 26 million was the Yankees bid for his rights to the Hanshin Tigers. Then the 20 million was the 5 year contract he signed with the Yankees in 2006. Why would you pay so much for a 27 year old (at the time) who has no big league experience. Well obviously because they were stupid. With all this said, 3 reasons the Yankees haven't won since 2000 are Poor management, bad chemistry, and too many ego's.

My top 5 biggest acquisition flops since 2000. (in no specific order)

1. Randy Johnson
2. Carl Pavano
3. Jaret Wright
4. Jose Contreas
5. Kei Igawa

My top 5 favorite acquisitions (In no specific Order)

1. Bobby Abreu
2. Corey Lidle ( a good pitcher who you can count on for a lengthy start, what every team needs)
3. Aaron F***ING BOONE!
4. Brian Bruney
5. A-Rod.
