<body>&lt;p&gt;Some food for thought. THe World Series is going on and I hope my Yankees finish the job and dont make me angry. But I have another take on why fewer people watch baseball than football, and why football is becoming out national pasttime. The commentators. Usually it is some college journalism major, together with a retired player, or two. Sadly the commentators for baseball are rediculous. For the World Series Joe Buck is as good as they come. BUt lets face it he is only there because heis daddy was a commentator. But the worst are in the regular season. Especially ESPN Sunday night baseball and wednsday night. Its nothing personal. but every commentator says things like &quot;he is a great fastball hitter.&quot; or if you put a a fastball over the plate up in the zone on the first pitch he wil hit it out of the park. well duh. they wouldnt be in the major leagues if they werent great fastball hitters. its kind of what makes them great. and even in little league a first pitch strike over the plate will get hit hard. now i know that they have to fill up the time by saying something. i grant them that. but its so repetititive and gets very rediculous. So my bottom line is that the commentators are driving people away from baseball.&lt;/p&gt;</body>
