Jones and Barber Could Both See the Field at the Same Time in 09: It’s been highly reported that Jerry Jones wants to see more of last years first round pick - Felix Jones, on the field more in 2009. ProFootballWeekly reports that both Jones and fellow RB Marion Barber could both be on the field at the same time this upcoming season: First, in the backfield, the team is playing around with using Cowboys RB’s Marion Barber and Felix Jones — something it did sparingly last season when the two were healthy — on the field at the same time. It doesn’t have to be in traditional, two-back sets, either; Jones has the flexibility to split out and motion into or out of the backfield.

According to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Felix Jones is due for a significant increase in touches this season. The owner insists that Felix will be "a major touch-factor in the offense." Counting kickoffs, Felix averaged eight touches in his six rookie season games. The Cowboys would like to get that number closer to 12-15 per game with an opportunity for more big plays while keeping Marion Barber fresh. Felix will be starting at some point this season. not that Barber isn't any good...but it makes sense for Felix to Start and Barber to finish.

Blogging The Boys Wade Phillips dusted off the 46 scheme he learned from Buddy Ryan to rescue his season. Dallas played the 46 close to half the time in the Redskins rematch win and used it a lot down the stretch. Dallas has an improved coverage secondary this year, with a lot more speed at the safety position. For this reason, I expect Phillips to blitz much more heavily this year. With a trusted -- and bigger -- Keith Brooking playing MLB instead of Zach Thomas, I think Wade Philips will unleash the Bear package and its blitzes a lot, lot more this year.

ABN I don't even expect Stanback to make the 53 man roster. He is always hurt. One of the younger guys has to step up and earn it. Man that was a wasted pick on a project. I would like to see Austin step his game up and grab the #2 spot but we'll see what happens with that. Flo aint moving to LG. He is a pure tackle and still a very good one. He takes alot of heat for his false starts, but I will take the occasional false start in exchange for the protection he gives. You don't see many sacks charged to him. Hope the LG position can stay healthy this year. And CB has to stay healthy or we will have trouble back there.
