2652888 Comment false There are so many Yankees on this list because the Yankees are so much a part of MLB postseason history (not just 26 World Series titles, but 39 total WS appearances!). When a single team is represented in the biggest series that often, you get a glut of players from that team's history. It's just a matter of percentages. Still, I felt bad just picking all Yankees. So I picked four and gave a fifth to another team. This is, after all, the Hall of Fall. Not the Hall of Yankees. My picks: Reggie; Babe Ruth; Whitey Ford; "Superchief" Ali Reynolds; and my non-Yankee: Bob Gibson. For those of you wondering why Clemente and Rose are not on the list, remember this is not the be all, end all of nominations. This is only for the inaugural class. I'm sure Clemente will be on future lists, though I wonder if ESPN will keep Rose off the ballot for the same reasons Baseball keeps him locked out of the HoF.
