<body>The BCS got it right. The Oklahoma Sooners deserve to play in the Big XII championship. Why? There are several reasons.

Many people have said that Texas Tech should be out of the equation. It causes one to wonder, however, why Texas Tech should be out of the equation? Did they not beat Texas? Do they not have only one loss, the same number as Texas and Oklahoma? Is it because they lost by 44? But who is it who beat them by 44? Oklahoma. You can't punish the loser without rewarding the winner. If Texas Tech is eliminated because they were blown out, the team that blew them out should get credit.

Another faulty argument made by many people is that since Texas won head-to-head against Oklahoma, they should go to the Championship. But, in a three-way tie, it is impossible to justify any team based on head-to-head. Each team has the same number of losses. Oklahoma beat Texas Tech, which beat Texas, which beat Oklahoma. Each team has a head-to-head argument, so no team does. People say that the winner of the game between the two highest ranked BCS teams should go, which sounds good in theory, but does not work in this case. Why isn't Texas Tech ranked ahead of Texas? Because of what the Sooners did to them. Was OU supposed to make it a close game, so Tech would stay ahead of Texas in the rankings? No. That makes no sense.

There are several ways to determine a winner in a three-way tie. First, you must look at the teams' other quality wins. This year, Texas' best non-conference wins are Arkansas and Rice. Texas Tech's best non-conference wins are Nevada and SMU. None of these teams are nationally ranked. Oklahoma, on the other hand, beat Cincinnati, ranked 13 in the BCS, and TCU, ranked 11. *Advantage: Oklahoma*. Also, margin of victory must be considered. Texas' margin of victory in games versus Oklahoma and Texas Tech is +4. Texas Tech's margin of victory in games versus Texas and Oklahoma is -38. Oklahoma's margin of victory in games against Texas and Texas Tech is +34. *Advantage: Oklahoma*. Finally, it is important to look at how the teams are playing right now. Texas' last two games were against Kansas and Texas A&amp;M, not exactly powerhouses. Admittedly, Texas won both games handily. Texas Tech's last two games were against Oklahoma and Baylor. They were destroyed by Oklahoma, then beat Baylor. Oklahoma last two games were against Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. The Sooners beat Tech by 44 and beat 14th ranked Oklahoma State on the road by 20. *Advantage: Oklahoma*.

Texas has a solid argument. Texas Tech has a solid argument. Oklahoma has a solid argument. But, when you carefully consider each point, it is easy to conclude that Oklahoma is the better team, and deserves to play in the Big XII Championship.
