You either win or lose based on mob mentality) then consider horse racing as something better than watching a lady in a white dealer's blouse hand you a 20 in blackjack then proceed to draw five cards to hit 21 and beat you. In horse racing YOU create your own play. You study the Daily Racing Form or you pick colors, names, jockeys. But either way, you make the choice. It's not dealt to you by a lady in a white dealer's blouse. Yes, the action is slower than casino gaming. It's upwards of 40 minutes between races on the Triple Crown days. But that's your time. Your time to study all the angles, to come up with YOUR decision about how you're going to invest. And the payoff is usually far greater than even 1.5-1 for the occasional blackjack handed you at random from the lady in the white blouse. There's no poetry there. But you might find it at a track when a beautiful animal sweeps wide around the field or cuts between horses to emerge in the final yards.</p> <p>Separately, our episode is about horse poop.
