Seeing Red

609254 Ever wonder exactly why Tiger Woods wears red during the final round and usually triumphs as a result?  Turns out, German psychologists and researchers are all over this.  According to New Scientist Magazine competitors who wear red, no matter the sport win 10 percent more often than those rocking ANY other color.   Experts say they believe red can actually make athletes feel more confident, in addition to being perceived by others as more aggressive and dominant.  In fact, researchers went so far as to sight this crimson study to explain the dominance red-clad soccer powers Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have over the competition.  There is no doubt, these folks likely passed on factoring in when the New York Football Giants wear their red uniforms, because the winners of Superbowl 42 are only 1 up and 3 down when they sport their red jerseys. Hooray, College Football is BACK One of the coolest things about working on SportsCenter Saturday mornings is the chance to be the first show to tap the frenetic energy of the College Gameday crew.  Now in its 23rd season, it is easy to see why the show is so successful.  It's you the fans, at all the various sites bringing your amazing energy.  Add that to an awesome sport, and it's easy to see why it's cooking with gas.  This fan is so glad Lee Corso, along for ALL 23 seasons of Gameday will be back, donning all different kinds of head gear, making lots of fans crazy and oh so many more laugh and smile.  Sure, I know the guys won't likely be on their way to the Palouse to check on my WSU Cougars, but hopefully that diehard flag waving fan will proudly make his presence known week in and week out too.  When your know your team is "rebuilding" again, a little thing like a big WSU flag on Gameday means a lot.  Until the next time, may your favorite team give you reason to cheer! true
