Can someone please tell Michael Crabtree to build a bridge and get over himself already. As the 10th overall pick in the NFL draft, stop putting the Niners through the ringer. San Francisco is building something good on Mike Singletary's watch and doesn’t need this headache. Crabtree has never hauled in a single catch in the NFL and has no business demanding to get paid based on where his status was in several mock drafts. Hello, they're mock drafts as in NOT real. What is real, is Crabtree is spoiling this chance and potentially his next if he really does hold out for the 2009 season and put his name into the 2010 draft hat. Who in the world passes up a chance to make millions for doing something they love? Oh I know, Paula Abdul. She is passing up on the chance to make 5 million dollars a year to continue her role as a judge on American Idol. But unlike Crabtree, Abdul can pass up that major paper because she's got options. Heck, Abdul may show up on the next season of Dancing with the Stars. Bottom line, 7 figures are nothing new to Ms. Abdul, can you Mr. Crabtree say the same while you sit, pout and hold out? Didn't think so.

The List

After David Ortiz' news conference to address his link to this now infamous 2003 baseball PED survey list, this fan feels a little bit better about "the list." Why? Because we now know back in 2003 there were 83 confirmed positive tests according to the MLB players union. Not 83 players, 83 confirmed positive tests meaning some guys may have been tested positive more than once. This survey did what it was supposed to ultimately do, trigger the 5 percent positive threshold needed to implement mandatory drug testing. The game is much better off now as a result than it was even just 6 years ago. Will athletes always try to improve performance by means like human growth hormone, sure. But at least now when I go to the park, I know the players are on notice and the game is trying to clean up its steroid act. Ortiz at last check, is 1 of 7 players publicly linked to this 2003 survey and I don't think the freak out level will be that big when number 8's identity gets "leaked" because I think fans just want to put this list in their respective rear view mirrors. I do reserve the right to be massively bummed if it's ever revealed my beloved Ken Griffey Jr. is linked to that 2003 survey. I'm not going to lie, that would blow. Until the next time, may your favorite team give you reason to cheer!
