Finally, the NBA Finals table is set. It's LA, in the finals for a record 30th time against Orlando, balling in the finals for the first time in 14 years. Good for you Dwight Howard and company for knocking out the top overall playoff seed Cleveland and King James. Sunday morning on SportsCenter, Superman said part of his motivation to bounce Lebron and the Cavs out of the post-season was to slow the Nike Muppets ad campaign roll. Mission accomplished, only half of Nike's star duo still has a shot at the Larry O'Brien Trophy. Since Howard is an Adidas man, don't be on the lookout for his puppet rendition anytime soon.

The one thing I was really kind of bummed to see, is what I didn't see after the Magic won game 6 in the Eastern conference finals Saturday night. Lebron just exited stage left. No hug between warriors after a tough battle, no acknowledgement of a job well done. Nothing. It's the first time since Lebron game into the league 6 years ago that I have been disappointed with him. He's better than that, and since I didn't see it, I can only hope its true. No matter how he may amaze on the court from here on in, I will always wonder about how he couldn't give props to those who earned it.

They're Back……

Maybe, just maybe the 2009 version of the Yankees may be the group to finally win the franchises 27th World Championship and relieve the anguish all of those grade school age fans who have yet to experience a World Series Title feel day in and day out. Why will 9 year old bomber fans may get a break? I think it will be because of Karma. Alex Rodriguez, admitting he cheated, by using PED's may have been just what was needed to lift the shady shroud off the Pinstripes. Despite a laundry list of injuries and a sluggish start, the Yankees are back on top in the AL East for the first time since the last day of the 2006n season. Sure, there is a long way to go. But after spending nearly a half billion dollars on 3 players and opening the 1 and a half billion dollar whiffle-ball ballpark in the Bronx, this may finally be the Yankees year.
