North Catholic High School's (Pittsburgh, PA) boys basketball team has 4 family members starting for them. They all have the same last name "Long" and two of them are brothers (Matthew and Martin). The head coach Dave Long is the father of Joseph and the cousin of the three is Jesse. They currently are undefeated at 12-0. The NC girls team has a cousin of the Long's (Lauren Savulchak) and is the teams leading scorer. Two Longs graduated two years ago and another is on the way next season.
Do you guys think college football can still have the polls up until the bowl games. Then they can use the bowl games as playoffs to the championship game. SO we still have the regular season drama with the polls we still have bowl games and we have playoffs.
We had a guy named Marcus Taylor who plays for our High School (Liberty High in Missouri) who won the Otis Taylor Award for being the best reciever in the KC area. He was presented the award by Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe. Hope you can post him soon!
I play for the CCA Falcons of the HWSA league, located in Huntsville,
we have two freshmen throwing in the high 80's. One plays for Dulins Dodgers in Memphis, I am sure you are familiar with that team.
Our team was fourth in the Nation last year behind only the Atlanta Barons, the Augusta Crusaders, the Oklahoma Broncos, And I think the other team was the Dallas Angels. Our league is spread out all over the south. I batted second last year (my sophomore year) and in 107 Ab's, i batted over .400
St. Francis High School just won their first ever state championship this weekend when they beat Metamora in the class 5A championship game. The school has had a total of 12 winning seasons in 52 years of football. Led by seniors Mark Kachmer, Stan bobowski,Jeff Reckards, Ryan Fergueson, Jason Lombardi,and Nate Olver, the Spartans finished the season with a 13-1 record with their only loss against montini being avenged in the quaterfinals. Combined the last 2 years they were 6-12.
Your rarely pay attention to the Northwest Georgia girls BB players. Alexis Katt, a Junior at Woodland HS in Cartersville, is one of the state's top players and is being scouted by numerous Div I schools. She is a NW Georgia Player of the Year for two years in a row; All-County 1st team; MVP numerous times; played on state and national champion YBOA & AAU teams; 5'11" SG and PF avg 13.6 pts/g; 8.6 rebounds/g; 2.0 blocks/g; and 3.5 steals/g.
