Uconn
March, 18 2009 15:09:14 | Back to Blog Posts | RSS » |Why are people hating Uconn? Thats the question I've been asking. I mean they've been inconsisitent (losing to Pitt twice) but in the end they've been #1 in the country for the most part. They're #1 in the east does that count for anything? Seriously even President Obama doesn't think they'll make it to the Final Four. Everyone thinks that Memphis will win the east and go to the Final Four. Memphis is a very good team who has been doing well the past few games. But they were'nt good enough to be #1 like Uconn. No bodys even giving them a chance but I think they will be a dark horse in this tournament.

Scott...really great point. I'm sure calhoun thought that his team would need a real spark before their game against chattanooga. It's a good thing he faked that illness, otherwise they might have only won by 40 or 50. And I can only assume that you meant to say "kryptonite," but either way its always tough to beat the same team three times in one season...
go huskies

What make people think that they need to beat Louisville or Memphis to order to get to final four?? These two teams could possible be knocked out before facing Uconn.
This is NCAA tourney. Anything can happen!!!
Look at Memphis who barely won last nite. Pretty embarrassing huh??
Go Huskies!!

UConn will have to beat L'ville, again, to advance, and then have to face their crytonite in Pitt, but it won't happen......
This "ploy" by their shifty coach with his "fake" illness will not nearly be enough to inspire the Conns of Connecticut to beat a true team like Pitt!!! Sorry sucka-fools!!!

I agree with you that UConn is one of the premier teams in this tournament, but the loss of Jerome Dyson has hurt the team immensely. Since he went out against Syracuse, the team is only 5-3, as compared with 22-1 before his injury. Granted those losses were to Pittsburgh twice and Syracuse, but the record indicates that he's clearly irreplaceable in that lineup, which is why I think that people are less sols on UConn than they were a few weeks ago.
